The Alfieri is inspired by the 1954 Maserati A6 GCS road and race car. The car is based on the same chassis as the Maserati Granturismo MC Stradale, and uses that car's carbon-ceramic brakes and Brembo calipers. The final production car is expected to weigh around 1400kg.

The exterior of the new 2016 Maserati Alfieri is unlike any other car on the market. The proportions come from the Maserati body type of the 1950s. The very long hood coupled with a more compact rear-set cabin and the low-set grille between more prominent fenders all pay homage to the heritage of the company. The 2+2 coupe is based on the rear-wheel drivetrain that the Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte have, however an all-wheel-drive model will also be offered. The base rear-wheel-drive model is still set to have a twin-turbocharged V6 putting out about 410 horsepower. The all-wheel-drive powertrains haven’t been confirmed but are believed to be twin-turbo V6 engines delivering 450-520 horsepower. Maserati is also working on a new plug-in hybrid system to be incorporated into future iterations of the Alfieri, as well.
2016 Maserati Alfieri Price
The new 2016 Maserati Alfieri production model has been designed to compete directly with the likes of the Porsche 911, Jaguar F-type, Mercedes-AMG GT, Corvette. Each of those vehicles range in price from $65,000, $129,900, $84,300, and $55,000, respectively. The 2016 Maserati Alfieri is expected to start with an MSRP of about £65,000, which will put it under the $75,000 mark here in the United States.2016 Maserati Alfieri Release Date
As we mentioned here, Maserati was officially confirmed for production last May. Production of the newest Maserati model should be ramping up soon near Turin, Italy in Grugliasco where the Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte are manufactured. Production of the 2016 Alfieri is scheduled so that it can be released right after its official introduction at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. As of this writing the 2016 Maserati Alfieri Release Date has not been officially announced, however the word is that the Alfieri will be making its way toward dealerships some time after the first week of March in 2016. A year later, the Alfieri Convertible is expected. |
